Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity today. This phenomenon is characterized by an increase in global temperatures due to greenhouse gas emissions originating from human activities, such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation and industry. The impact is felt in various aspects of life, which has the potential to threaten the sustainability of life on Earth. One of the most obvious impacts of climate change is changes in weather patterns. Extreme weather is becoming more frequent, including torrential rains, prolonged droughts and stronger storms. These changes affect the agricultural sector, where farmers have to adapt to uncertain conditions. Crops that previously grew well in a region are now vulnerable to pests and disease, resulting in reduced yields and threats to global food security. The water sector is also feeling the impact. Increasing air temperatures cause faster evaporation of water and the result is a water crisis in various regions. Melting ice in polar regions has the effect of rising sea levels, threatening coastal areas with flooding and erosion. Many communities that depend on clean water resources experience difficulties, reducing the quality of life and public health. Biodiversity is also disrupted due to climate change. Many animal and plant species struggle to adapt to changes in temperature and habitat. Global warming makes some habitats unfit for habitation, causing the extinction of species in some ecosystems. This not only reduces biodiversity but also affects the ecosystem as a whole, which plays an important role in maintaining environmental balance. The global economy is also affected by the increasing frequency and intensity of natural disasters. The damage caused by floods, forest fires, and hurricanes not only destroys infrastructure but also burdens governments with huge rehabilitation costs. The insurance sector is also experiencing pressure due to increasing damage claims. Climate change also has significant social impacts. An increase in the number of climate refugees occurs when areas become uninhabitable due to extreme weather. This mass migration can trigger social conflict and increase tensions between different groups in the destination region. With the increasing number of populations exposed to risk, governments must prepare appropriate mitigation and adaptation measures. One way to deal with the impacts of climate change is to apply the concept of sustainability. Reducing the carbon footprint through the development of renewable energy, energy conservation and sustainable agricultural practices is an important step. Additionally, increasing public awareness and education about the importance of protecting the environment can contribute to these efforts. Through a collaborative approach involving government, business and society, the negative impacts of climate change can be minimized for the sake of sustainable life in the future.
